2017 Eagle Ride for Central Florida Zoo

Two male bald eagles became the newest inhabitants of the The Texas Zoo. The birds arrived in mid-July from Liberty Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. The unveiling of the new arrivals will happen during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday during Endangered Species Day at the zoo. The zoo hasn’t had bald eagles since 2003. The birds are fed fish, chickens, rats and other small animals. Bald eagles can live up to 30 years old. Photo: Ana Ramirez/aramirez@vicad.com
