Charities we support

Our HOG group has been working with the community for over 25 years and raising funds for various groups.  Our current, regular charities are…..

Central Florida Zoo

Seminole Chapter Sanford Florida Harley Owners Group (SCSFHOG) has earned the distinction of supporting the Central Florida Zoo for over 25 years, making us the longest running continuous sponsor the Zoo has had. We will continue to sponsor the Zoo’s American Bald Eagle exhibit and support this proud animal.

Through the continued support of SCSFHOG, the Zoo has been able to keep the exhibit maintained for the public since July 4, 1992. We were given the honor of naming the first eagle to call the Zoo their home. Our eagles, named Harley and Davidson, were rescued and rehabilitated at the Zoo. Harley has passed away and was replaced by Spirit. When Spirit passed away several years ago she was replaced by Glory. Our current residents are Glory and Davidson. All of the eagles would not have survived without the diligent efforts of the park caregivers, and of course, the dedication of SCSFHOG to support them.

Our yearly motorcycle ride provides funds that go directly to the care, feeding and the study of these majestic symbols of FREEDOM.

Central Florida SIDS Alliance

“In the belief that every child should live”….The motto of the Central Florida SIDS Alliance…

Formed through the efforts of SIDS parent groups and concerned professionals. This group of parents, families, friends and professionals have united to form a network of caring people, sharing their strength, their love and concern about SIDS.

Because SIDS occurs unexpectedly, and usually at home, nearly every parent feels in some way responsible for the baby’s death, until the facts are explained. The sudden and unexpected nature of SIDS, and the investigation which follows, may provoke serious feelings of guilt, self-recrimination and inadequacy. Parents need information about SIDS and reassurance that the feelings they are experiencing are normal and part of the total healing process after such a traumatic loss.

Seminole Chapter Sanford Florida is pleased to help support such worthwhile charitable endeavors, please check back for details on all our activities and charity runs.
